Aluminium alloys of 5xxx series which possess a combination of good mechanical strength and ductility, formability and excellent corrosion resistance to a corrosive atmosphere, hence better performance of products. The alloys in these series majorly rely on the dispersoids and solution treatment after deformation as a way of enhancing the mechanical properties. Various alloying elements such as manganese, Zirconium, Chromium, Scandium, and Ti play a major role in the processing of these alloys.
