We revise the systematics and biology of 38 species of acrobat ants in the genus Crematogaster that occur in North America, including Mexico. We include an illustrated key to the workers in English and a translation of the key in Spanish. We have illustrations of the workers, queens and males of most of the species as well as colored photographs of the workers of nearly all of the species. Distribution maps are included as well as summaries of the biology of each species, based on our field work and the literature. We hope that this revision will be useful for the identification of these ants, and will provide a basis for rurther work on this genus.…mehr

Dr. Cynthia Morgan completed her Bachelor's Degree in Biology, and her Ph. D. Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Texas, El Paso in 2009.Dr. William Mackay completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at California State University at Fullerton in Biology and his Ph. D. In Population Biology in 1980.
