Upon hearing about the danger that was before them, the Vatican sent in their best troops lead by Rebecca Van Stocks (their current and one of their best warriors in the fight against evil) to stop the Fang before they unleash their rain of terror. With little to no knowledge of the new way the Fang conducts warfare, the Vatican launches an attack on their base in Crete. With the new tactics and the Elite Guard, Rebecca's forces are overwhelmed, and she loses 90% of her men including Mike, her second in command. Scott Williams was born in Nebraska and grew up on the family farm. When he was 20 years old, he went to college for Computer Animation and Industrial Design. Soon after college, Scott joined the Marine Corps where he would serve 8 years, with a deployment to support the operations in Afghanistan and then two combat tours with Iraq. It was on his second tour to Iraq that he came up with his first Character Gabriel. Upon leaving the Marines, he went back home to Nebraska with his wife and then 3-year-old son. In 2010, while doing freelance artwork for a friend that was writing a book, he got the idea of writing his own book using the character that he created in Iraq. By 2012 Scott had written 14 books, with 7 books in the Chronicles of the Sky Runners series.
