She has completed a doctorate in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Ferreira has been teaching at Bridgewater State University since 2001, where she is a tenured professor and former chair of the foreign languages department. Dr. Ferreira lives in Brockton, Massachusetts.
