Autorenporträt
Daniel Ward is a writer and actor from South London. His work focuses on the Black British lived experience, in all its guises from the naturalistic to the fantastical. A graduate of the NYT and LAMDA, he has performed in theatres all over the country whilst continually writing and honing his artistic voice. This led to his debut play, The Canary and the Crow, which premiered at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 to rousing accolades and sold out performances. It went on to receive the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence before embarking on a UK tour, which included a run at Theatre Royal Stratford East. In January of 2020, Daniel won the Writers Guild of Great Britain's Best Play for Young Audiences Award, and he has since concluded a 2020 run of the play at the Arcola Theatre in London. He also won the George Devine Award in 2020 for The Canary and the Crow. Daniel's play Everything I Own premiered at Brixton House's Housemates 2023 Festival, before returning for a four week run at Brixton House in summer 2024.
