Building Information Modelling (BIM) had gained widespread awareness especially in the context of Malaysian Construction Industry. Numerous initiatives and policies initiated by the government and private body which aims to spearhead efforts and imposed significant impact on the progression of BIM to the industry. In contrast with the aspiration, the level of BIM implementation amongst architects are still lagging behind as only few architectural firms are presently adopting BIM into practice. The aim of this study is to address the issue of low BIM adoption among the architects by investigating primarily the state of adoption, challenges and drivers of BIM. The collection of primary data is quantitative in nature where a questionnaire survey was created based on the collection of secondary data obtained from the literature review. Although the usage of BIM is still infancy, most are aware of BIM and its benefits with several key challenges and solutions been identified. This study would provide the industry with invaluable insight regarding BIM adoption and serve as a critical reference in assessing the changes and effects of its progress in Malaysia.
