Short's Stories, Moose Dropping, is the fourth in a series recounting the author's life and travels. Ronan Short was born in London, England in 1940 and raised at the British National Institute for Medical Research, where his father was in charge of the research animals. His life, from childhood to the present, has been full of adventures and encounters. After immigrating to the United States, and living in New York City, he felt a need to move on. This volume, Alaska, A 'Stopover', 1966-1968, recounts the very beginning of his time in the North, which surprisingly has lasted for over 50 years. Alaskans are a diverse and venturesome lot, and Ronan fits the mold well.
