The business context in which organisations operate is fast changing, which puts pressure on organisational leaders. Not-for-profit sector organisations are one sector that is severely depressed due to overdependence on donor funds. In such a situation, it is important to determine the role of leadership change management strategies required to achieve sustainability of NGOs. This study determines some leadership skills required by NGOs to achieve organisational sustainability. Data was obtained through review of literature on leadership change management, secondary data through review of organisational documents, and primary data from through ZAN member organisations' leaders. Using Zimbabwe AIDS Network (ZAN) as a case study, the study reveals that effective leadership change management strategies ensure effective NGO management and donor confidence, increases confidence of stakeholders, improves financial resources and sustainability. The leadership management change skills required to achieve NGO sustainability, while multifaceted, include change management competencies and change agents' skills in managing organisations.

His leadership experience includes directing programmes and executive directorship. He currently serves as an advisor to several NGOs where he is serving on their boards as a director.
