Graduations in elementary education: B.A. from Goshen College; M.A. and Ed.D. with reading and special education cognates from Ball State University; outstanding citation of dissertation: "A Study of Factors Related to the Reading Ability of Kindergarten Children." As a teacher: taught grades two to four, those with reading difficulties, and college students; workshops for teachers and parents; reading consultant and coordinator; chairman of the Language Arts Division of South Bend Teachers' Institute; and tested students' reading skills for NAEP. Publications: STEPS ALONG MY PATH; assisted with THE JOURNEY OF A LIFTIME; requested topics for NATURE FRIEND magazine; and other stories or articles for INDIANA READING QUARTERLY, TURNING AROUND BOOKLET, STORY FRIENDS, A Glimpse of How It Used To Be and Purring Perfectly. Church experiences: teaching and workshops; voluntary service; mission trip; and served in women's choral group and as organist for churches. Hobbies: I enjoy singing, playing the organ, completing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and working outside.
