Produktbeschreibung
Environmental Science is an integrated subject which seeks to make pupils aware of themselves and their environment. Pupils explore the environment through simple scientific enquiry. They will also develop the ability to ask questions from a scientific point of view and begin to make their own decisions on how to conduct simple scientific investigations and interpret the results. Lastly, it is hoped that they apply acquired concepts, skills and attitudes in real life situations. This book reveals how teachers communicate these concepts, skills and attitudes to their pupils. Efficient and effective use of participatory activity-based methods coupled with the use of the environment both as a source of learning and as a resource for learning activities leave pupils intrinsically motivated. However, lack of proficiency in the medium of instruction by the majority of the pupils and a dearth of high order questions from teachers compromise the effectiveness with which pupils acquire these basic scientific concepts, skills and attitudes. This book is a 'must have' for all caring parents, teachers, school heads, student teachers, college lecturers and policy makers.
