The paper discusses the formation of plasma sprayed products and coatings of pure aluminum oxide. The connection between phase composition of material of products or coatings and its porosity, hardness, wear resistance, adhesive strength of adhesion to the substrate is shown. It is established that the transition of one structural modification of aluminum oxide to another is always accompanied by volume changes and affects the porosity of the product or coating material. The possibility of purposeful change of porosity of plasma-sprayed aluminum oxide products is shown. The role of gautter coatings applied to the outer surface of porous ceramic products has been clarified. It is shown that götter coatings prevent the penetration of gases and gaseous impurities through the pores of the ceramic product. It is established that the basis of powder plasma spraying wastes is corundum. These wastes contain an increased amount of iron oxides in their composition. Optimisation of the particle size distribution and magnetic separation make this waste fully recyclable. This book has been translated with Artificial Intelligence.
