The development of solar cells is the best approaches to convert solar energy into electrical energy, which is based on the photovoltaic effect. Over the several years, silicon-based cells have been used for industrial purposes due to their efficient solar-to power generation (~30%), particularly crystalline silicon. In recent years, the remarkable achievements in the research of perovskite solar cells (PSC) have received attention in the scientific communities. This solar cells already exhibiting solar to electrical power conversion efficiencies more than 26% to provide a cheap and clean source of energy. This type of solar cells are promised to be fabricated at low cost however, the perovskite absorber layer consists of abundant materials. As of now, only a fairly small number of variants of these perovskites have been described in the literature. Hence, there is a need to evaluate the variability, chemical adaptability and tuning of these perovskites in much more detail to enable the fabrication of advanced solar cells for opto-electronic devices. One special attention that the potential toxicology issue of lead is made this cell very crucial for the use in environment.
