This is a study on perceptions of teachers and students regarding the use of the Newspaper in Education (NiE) in improving the learning of English. A total of 64 Form Three students and seven Form Three teachers from a secondary school in Puchong, Selangor, and a secondary school in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia, were the respondents in this study. Perceptions of teachers regarding the use of the NiE in upgrading students English Language Skills in Reading, Writing and Speaking, and students perception regarding the NiE in upgrading their English Language Skills in Reading, Writing and Speaking were studied. A correlation between the teachers and students perceptions was also examined to see if the teachers and students perceptions coincided.
