The study was designed to determine the perceptions and attitudes of the parents towards the Girl child secondary education in Lira Sub County. The study had three objectives: To assess the perceptions of parents towards educating the Girl child at secondary level, to find out parents attitudes towards girl child secondary education and to find out the factors influencing parents' perceptions and attitudes towards Girl child secondary education. This study used a descriptive cross sectional design to investigate the research problem that employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches. This study drew a systematic random sample of 396 households in Lira Sub County and additional 10 girls who had dropped out of school were purposely selected giving total sample size of 406. Data was collected and analyzed using Microsoft Excel package. The findings from the study concluded that parents of Lira Sub County keep their daughters at home to supplement family welfare.The study also recommended that parents with limited resources who do not put high value in educating girl children at secondary level should be empowered fully .
