Nau III Professor of the History of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia and has written and edited numerous books, including Lee and His Army in Confederate History and The Confederate War. Joseph T. Glatthaar is professor of history at the University of Houston and author of Partners in Command, Forged in Battle, and other publications.
