In this work, an object-oriented event-state spatiotemporal data model for 4D city environment is presented with the focus on 3D building objects that change over time. In the data model, the coherent relations between events and objects are considered. Events are bound to objects and can be described with respect to the hierarchy of the involved objects. Dr. Hongchao Fan is now Lecturer at the Department of Surveying and Geomatics of the Tongji University in Shanghai. He was Research Assistant at the Department of Cartography of the Technische Universität München. He obtained his PhD from the same university in October 2010. His research work focuses mainly on the spatiotemporal data analysis.
