High strength materials have tremendous applications in the field of aerospace, nuclear, biomedical engineering, automobile industry, etc. It has been a challenging task to machine these high strength materials and costly cutting tools are required to machine those materials. Hot machining is an alternative approach for machining these hard material using low cost cutting tools. Basic concept behind the hot machining is to soften the material by heating technique which reduces tool wear, improves surface finish, chip reduction coefficient, tool life and power consumption at desired response. In this book, an experimental investigation has been carried out in hot turning of stainless steel bar on Lathe using Carbide tool. The work demonstrates the best process environment which could simultaneously satisfy requirements of both quality as well as productivity with special emphasis on maximizing material removal rate and minimizing surface roughness.
