The Greek Historical Society of the San Francisco Bay Area is dedicated to the preservation of Greek culture and history in the San Francisco area. The organization has collected ephemera chronicling San Francisco's Greek community from its founding in the 1880s to the present day. The photographs in this volume come from private collections, the archives of the historical society, and libraries. They pay tribute to the contributions made by the first Greek immigrants and subsequent generations to the life and fabric of San Francisco.
