The prevalence of overweight and obesity have increased dramatically over the past few decades in most industrialized countries. Obesity had reached epidemic proportion worldwide especially in the developed nations both in children and adults (Wang & Lobstein, 2006). During the same period, many developing countries have undergone an economic transition from societies characterized by subsistence agriculture to increased urbanization and industrialization (Luke et al., 2002).

Paul Eme was born in Aba in Aba South L.G.A of Abia State on 26th February, 1986. He holds a Masters (M.Sc.) in Human Nutrition. He teaches undergraduate students. His major interest is in food and nutrition security at both micro and macro levels of the community and nutrition policy formulations.
