The purpose of the study was to examine risk factors for falling, including body composition, physical functioning and fear of falling in home-dwelling older women. The study evaluated the effects of supervised multimodal group exercise on physical functioning, falls, fall-related injuries and fear of falling, and its cost-effectiveness from a societal perspective.
Autorenporträt
Radhika Patil was born in India and trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Pune. She holds a Ph.D. in Geriatrics from the University of Tampere, Finland. Her work experience and research includes prevention of age-related functional decline, as well as falls prevention, rehabilitation and exercise prescription for older persons.
