Francine Shapiro, PhD (1948-2019), was the originator and developer of EMDR therapy. She was the director of the EMDR Institute and a senior research fellow, emerita, at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California. Her work has enabled hundreds of thousands of clinicians to treat millions of patients worldwide. Margot Silk Forrest is a writer and independent book editor living in Morro Bay, California.
