From this study one can draw the conclusion that the addition of PEC-NPMI to PVC with concentration 0.01gm/1gmPVC improves the thermal stability of pure PVC and thus prolongs the service life time of articles made from this polymer. The results of differential thermal analysis indicated that the sample of 0.01gmPEC-NPMI/1gmPVC has the highest melting temperature Tm. While exposing it to infrared laser radiation leads to a decrease of its Tm value, which is most suitable for applications requiring the molding of this polymer at lower temperatures. Also, one can conclude that the IR and UV…mehr

Also, one can conclude that the IR and UV spectroscopy, refractive index and the degree of ordering in the polymer samples are dependent on both the PEC-NPMI concentration and the laser radiation exposure. The results show that the PVC polymer sample stabilized with 0.01gmPEC-NPMI/1gmPVC and irradiated with 4.27 J/cm2 laser energy fluence has the maximum isotropic nature. The same sample shows the maximum absorbance for electromagnetic waves in the IR and UV regions. This property suggests that this stabilized irradiated PVC polymer could be industrially useful for applications requiring high value of absorbance in in the IR and UV regions
