Snehangshu Shekhar Chanda was born in 1968 at Boalia of Kalukhali Upazilla under the district of Rajbari, Bangladesh. He completed higher studies in English from Rajshahi University, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He did a PhD in English Linguistics from USA and he is currently working as a Professor of English at Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh.
