A layered soil stratum resting on half space is considered for finding ground response. Material nonlinearity of soils is approximated using equivalent linear approach, in which the actual non-linear hysteretic stress-strain behavior of cyclically loaded soils can be approximated by equivalent linear soil properties. Comparison is done for linear response and non-linear response for the above-mentioned problem.
