Autorenporträt
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Bipolar Barbie is a young Australian Artist, Author and Motivational Speaker. When people ask her why she decided to talk about her mental health issues publicly she responds "It never occurred to me not to!"She started out as a social media influencer on Instagram and YouTube becoming known worldwide for giving a "Creative take on living with Mental Illness". Expressing herself in a raw, honest and relatable way. She says her qualifications are "Lived Experience". She blogs about her journey to overcome with homelessness, bankruptcy, domestic violence emotional and psychological child abuse as well as drug and alcohol abuse. She believes the reason mental health stigma exists, is because we don't know how to talk about it. "It is a language barrier and a lack of understanding that fuels ignorance; thus talking about the Stigma is counter productive. "I want people to remember and understand what it is really like to suffer a mental illness or have mental health issues, not that there are people out there who don't believe it" she says. She now dreams of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned, where a mental health advocate has more followers than the Kardashians.
