Lorna Ramirez is a writer, published author of five books, My Innermost Thoughts, My Passion, My Calling, Moments of Love, Lust and Ecstasy, Reflective Contemplations and Pondering Thoughts. She is also a publisher, motivational speaker, ghost writer a pianist and a regular contributor of The Philippine Times and the Sydney Philippine Community Herald. She finished her Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Santo Thomas, Philippines and had worked as a Laboratory and Mill Manager at a Textile industry Philippines. Lorna has travelled extensively, gaining much from her interactions with people all over the world and building strong foundations for her philosophies in life. She loves gardening, cooking, reading and playing the piano both classical and modern. In 1977 with her husband and her son and daughter she migrated to Australia. She worked as an Industrial Chemist in one of the leading oil companies in Australia, only retiring in the year 2000 to care for her first grandchild. Lorna Ramirez won third prize for the 2017 writing competition by the Society of Women writers in Victoria. In October 2016 Lorna was one of the certificate of recognition award recipients from FILCCA ( Filipino Community Council of Australia) Lorna was voted one of the five Most Inspiring Woman of Australia in 2019 by The women's Association Incorporated. In 2020 she was recognised as one of the two Most Inspiring Women by the Skylark Foundation Australia. Lorna is a founding member of the newly peak body CAFOVI (Council of Australian Filipino Organizations of Victoria) and also an active member of the Historical Society of Footscray. She is a financial supporter of different charities, National Breast Cancer Foundation and Soriano-Orodio Foundation Inc. Australia The proceeds of her fourth book Reflective Contemplations were donated to this charity, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and to the different Church dioceses in the western suburb Victoria. She is also a financial -supporter for Mental Health Foundation, and Give Love Inc. At present she is writing two books, one book she is writing, is a sequel of her novel Moments of Love, Lust and Ecstasy, and another book for inspirational messages, original poems and quotes. She often also been invited to different libraries in Victoria to speak about writing and encouraging especially young would be writers, how to publish their written manuscript. Throughout her life Lorna Ramirez a woman of faith, has been a wise observer of human behaviour and has collected her many wisdoms and observations to produce an inspiring and uplifting books.
