Valerie Michaels has been writing since the birth of her son and writes historical and contemporary fiction. She is inspired by the love of history and volunteering for twenty years at her local police department. Due to her enjoyment of both, she tries to be as realistic and factual as possible. Her pen name is a combination of her children's names: Valerie and Michael. She lives in the Dallas, Texas, area with her husband, Steve.
