Life isn't about the tangibles--the things we own or the things we can buy. Instead, life is about moments, experiences, and lessons wrapped in memory. In a world of experiences and not things, imperfections and insecurities can be celebrated as unique. Such revelations occurred to poet Christopher Townsend during times of reflection in his day-to-day life. Breakfast evokes early morning energy and imagery to convey timeless truths and muse about the nature of love. Townsend creates lush settings using vivid imagery and sensual subjects, pulling readers into enjoyment and contemplation. Life, like breakfast, is best served with those who sit and enjoy the stillness of the morning, a muffin complimented by a cup of coffee, and the thoughts of things to come. As a quintessential renaissance man, writing provides Townsend with the platform for reflection, expression, and direction through poetry and prose. Words constructed together, loosely or prescriptively, provide for us the conduit to enjoy life and share in a moment. Breakfast is the beginning of every day and sets the stage for wonder. Breakfast is served! Enjoy.

Autorenporträt
After many years of being persuaded to write, and receiving a gift from his mom with the inscription, "Happiness is writing your own story," Christopher began to put pen to paper.Christopher's first self-published book, titled "You Happened," is dedicated to his son, representing the gift that children are to families and to the world. As a quintessential Renaissance man, a student of modern architecture and interior design, a trumpeter who now favours the softer tone of the flugelhorn and knows how to provide the beat on the drums and also likes to show his appreciation for family and friends through his culinary expressions, writing-through poetry and prose-provides Christopher with a platform for reflection, expression, and direction. As a lifelong learner, Christopher proposes that everything we experience brings with it a lesson, and along the way we cross the threshold at one of two entrances-to become better or bitter. Thus far, for Christopher, the introvert became a leader, a motivational speaker, a coach, and, most importantly, he learned to appreciate his voice.
