After college, Robinson rose to the ranks of college basketball eventually replacing Coach Jim Valvano at his alma mater, N.C. State. There, he coached against the best--Dean Smith, Mike Krzyzewski, and his best friend in thebusiness, Bobby Cremins. Robinson served as head coach and athletic director at three institutions--The Citadel, East Tennessee State, and N.C. State. Author W. Thomas McQueeney is a native son of Charleston. He is a 1974 graduate of The Citadel. He has chaired and served on nearly three dozen community boards. He has written twelve books in genres of history, biography, sports, literature, ¿ction, and humor. He is a recipient of The Order of the Palmetto, the State of South Carolina's highest award conferred upon a citizen. He is married, lives in Mount Pleasant, SC, and is a member of Christ Our King Parish.
