Fungal infection on the skin is one of the common dermatological disease especially for the people living in hot and humid climatic conditions. Topical agents suffer from its own limitations like lack of site-specific delivery, drug bioavailability, and patient compliance. Curcumin oil is herbal drug with a larger number of bio-active molecules are present which targets fungal infection with added advantage to the site. Another strategy was employed in this research study was to protect the skin from excessive exposure from free radicals by supporting the skin endogenous antioxidant system. Curcumin oil loaded microemulsion was formulated with curcumin oil as an oil phase and vitamin C as an active ingredients, tween 20 and isopropanol as surfactant and co-surfactant respectively. Carbopol-940 was chosen as a polymer for the preparation of gel as well as a carrier system to deliver curcumin and vitamin C. Pseudo-ternary phase diagram of microemulsion with various surfactant/co-surfactant ratios (1:1-4:1) were constructed to study the phase behaviour.
