This book allows African American Army Warrant Officers to tell their stories. The stories include 84 year old Chief Warrant Officer Three (Retired) Julius Green, the first African American deep sea diver in the U.S. Army; CW5 (Retired) Rufus N. Montgomery, Sr., the first African American Warrant Officer inducted into the Order of Eagle Rising Society; and CW4 (Retired) Leonard Dungey, who at age 95, shared his Army story in his autobiography "The Best Man I Can Be". These and other stories are a part of fiber of African American and Military history.

Farrell J. Chiles is a retired Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4). He is a Vietnam Veteran and was mobilized for Operation Enduring Freedom. Chiles is the recipient of the first CW4 Michael J. Novasel Outstanding Warrant Officer of the Year Award. Chiles resides in California.
