Autorenporträt
Paul Gerald is pretty much addicted to several things: flexibility, the outdoors, travel, and avoiding full-time work.

As of this writing, he earns his money as the author of four titles for AdventureKEEN, including this one; the author and publisher of an all-breakfast guide to Portland called Breakfast in Bridgetown; a freelance travel writer; a tour guide for Evergreen Escapes in Portland; a Marketing Editor and Trip Leader for Embark Exploration Company; a driver for Radio Cab Company; and now the owner and founder of EnglishSoccerGuide.com, which is a travel consulting and ticket resale business for American soccer fans headed to England. He'll also publish a book on that subject in 2018.

In the past, Paul has been a newspaper editor and sports writer, deckhand on an Alaskan fishing boat, social worker, a restaurant cook, and for a brief and mostly unpleasant time, a cubicle dweller at an insurance company.

When he isn't doing all of that, he manages to get out for a hike now and then. And go to Portland Timbers games.

Basically, his goal has always remained the same: Go to interesting places, do interesting things, meet interesting people, then tell the story and help others have the same kind of fun.
