Gavin Thomas is a British travel journalist specializing in Arabia and Asia. Based just outside London, he has written or contributed to dozens of guidebooks for publishers including Frommer's, Rough Guides, Insight, Berlitz, Dorling Kingsley and Time Out. A regular visitor to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for more than a decade, he's watched both cities double in size, transforming from rising regional stars into global powerhouses, and remains fascinated by the unfolding story of these two constantly evolving destinations.
