This book is one of the earliest attempts of psychological case studies on mental illnesses, specifically that of paranoid schizophrenia. It was written by John Haslam, an English apothecary, physician and medical writer. Although the language used may be outdated to today's sensibilities, it provides a true account of how the condition was seen by the medical community at that era.
