This book deals with the strengthening of non-ductile beam-column joint by using CFRP sheet. A comprehensive literature survey of the existing theories and code, design guidelines and analysis techniques are included in the book. Moreover, identification of Retrofitting need to a structure and selection of appropriate Retrofitting methods are also involved. In addition, a case of non-ductile beam-column joint designed as per IS code is analyzed. An appropriate CFRP sheet is designed to enhance the shear capacity of the joint. A series of numerical models of conventional and retrofitted joints are developed in ANSYS FE. program. Furthermore, the book clearly mentions each design steps and methodology used in numerical model development.

Autor

Mr Sujan Tripathi (MSc in Structural Engineering) has been working as an assistant professor in the institute of engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has also actively involved in the analysis and design of various structures. Especially, his researches are focused on restrengthening of structures, Structural optimization, FE analysis etc.
