Photosynthesis process considered the powerful process in the nature in which microalgae as photosynthetic organisms use sun power. Microalgae are promise sources for many types of biofuels as bio-hydrogen, bioethanol and biodiesel. Microalgae are not compete for land or water like plants. Photosynthesis process considered the powerful process in the nature in which microalgae as photosynthetic organisms use sun power. Microalgae are promise sources for many types of biofuels as bio-hydrogen, bioethanol and biodiesel. Microalgae are not compete for land or water like plants. Due to their small size they have more photosynthesis efficiency than higher plants. They have lipids more than 50% of their weight. This book focuses on biofuels produced from algae and biodiesel produced from some types of microalgae. The book includes two main parts; first part about theoretical concepts; titled new prospection for algal biofuel production, and second part discusses cultivation systems used for Chlorella sp., Desmodesmus quadricaudatus and Oscillatoria sp. to optimize their biomass productivity, lipid content and lipid productivity to enhance biodiesel production.
