While reading the book I got the impression that Miss Ahern lost her ability to capture the reader. Don't get me wrong, she still writes in a very colourful way and paints pictures in your mind, but then - all of a sudden - she abandons a thought, leaves the reader hanging with no explanation as to why there is a bend in the road now, starts somewhere new alltogehter and you're left baffled.
The book in itself is an easy read and contains 2 separate stories. I can't help comparing the first story "The girl in the Mirror" to a lesser copy of Coraline. The second story is actually better but, as I wrote earlier, leaves you hanging - there are bones, but no meat, no substance. I have all of Cecila Aherns Books and I loved them - this one? Not so much.
