A worldwide mobilization is needed to stop its cultural and ecological destruction. Its full submission to the market and to predatory privatization contribute to this process that has global impact. Many diseases and pandemics could spread throughout the world as a result of continued destruction of this incredibly biodiverse region. It has about 163 indigenous peoples, over 2000 rivers and 400 billion trees. It is important for world food security, climate change mitigation and bioindustry. This study puts the need for its transformation into the world heritage. Links, controversies and challenges about Amazonia's sustainable development and nature, territory, culture, environmental justice, economics, work, bioeconomy, COVID-19, climate change and environmental protection are debated in the perspective aimed at improving quality of life of their native populations.
