It is there that Aericat Lazaro studies to complete her forced vocational pathing. It is there that years ago, her father joined a rebellion and fought in a civil war that resulted not only in the death of the majority of the city leaders, but also claimed his own life. It is there that she once fell in love with Will Gardener, only to have her heart broken by his sudden and mysterious disappearance.
Years later now, she clings to the notion that in complying with the laws of the capital, and in staying to The Path that she will finally attain some peace. Meanwhile, General Augustus Creed, the lone survivor of the past attack on the city leadership, has taken over as the ruler of Novus. He rules with an iron fist, and is determined to crush any who oppose him, and Eden.
Yet a threat lurks in the city. There are whispers of a rising rebellion, and a new group of players have appeared, calling themselves The Unbelievers. On one fateful night a theft from the city repository begins a chain of events that will force Aericat to choose a side in the war over the truth itself. These events could very well unravel a conspiracy that has been hundreds of years in the making, and decide the fate of Novus...
