This reflections on the past, designed to serve as an edification to posterity. In the first book, volumes I and II of memoirs are published in an abridged translation from English and describe the events from 1919 to December 1940, which led to an unnecessary, according to the author, war that could have been avoided. The second book publishes the third and fourth volumes of memoirs and describes the events from January 1941 to June 1943: the invasion of Nazi Germany into the Soviet Union, the attack of militarist Japan on the United States, the creation of the anti-Hitler coalition, the transition of the allies from defense to offensive. The third book publishes the fifth and sixth volumes of memoirs and describes the events from June 1943 to July 1945 - the surrender of Germany's allies, the Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam conferences, the landing of American, British and Canadian troops in Normandy, the defeat of the Nazi troops in as a result of the historic victories of the Soviet army and allies, the surrender of Germany.
