Meanwhile, Gabe Sharma and his younger sister Ella have inherited their family's library. For years it's been kept secret and used by academics: but why? The library harnesses a magical quality that allows the reader to meet characters and famous figures from the books they read. However, with the library in disrepair and desperately needing money, Ella, much to cynical academic Gabe's dismay, wants to take matters into her own hands by opening up the doors to romance readers, allowing readers to date their romance heroes. They'll call it... The Love Library!
When an opportunity at work offers Tess the chance to write about the opening of The Love Library, Tess sees the possibility to finally step out of her comfort zone and become the writer she knows she can be. In turn, she discovers a place where any of her romance fantasies can be loaned out for the day. What ensues is a series of adventures with some of the Romance genre's greatest heroes: the complicated and chaotic Heathcliff, the mysterious and brooding Rochester, and the greatest gentleman of all, Mr Darcy. All loaned out under the watchful eye of the grumpy and altogether disapproving, Gabe.
But when Gabe starts sabotaging Ella's grand romantic plans, and Tess's chance at love, he finds himself the unlikely heartthrob in an epic romance plot all of his own.
