This is a story of Ramona the house and Dusty the doormat. Both Ramona and Dusty are fixated on themselves. Ramona is only concerned about her looks and Dusty is looking for respect. Dusty the doormat lived in the shadow of Ramona the house. He longed for the day when he would be treated with respect. Dusty thought that what he did amounted to very little.
