As a result, most Jewish Yeshiva and Christian Seminary students of either persuasion have little idea of the controversy within the covenant of Moses concerning these two groups. That controversy is directly tied to the "Gospel of the Kingdom" that Yeshua of Nazareth taught. Those in Judea at that time knew all too well of this controversy. It is well documented. It was the issue day, with an estimated 5000 Hasmonaean supporting rabbis pitting themselves against 4000 teachers of the righteousness of Essene persuasion.
