"Allmächtige" Computerprogrammsysteme zwängen den arbeitenden Menschen in das Prokrustesbett vorgegebener Arbeitsabläufe. Die Effekte einer solchen nach wie vor weit verbreiteten Implantation von Enterprise-Resource-Planning-Systemen (ERP) in die Unternehmensorganisation können fatal sein: Trotz immens hoher Software- und Schulungsinvestitionen steigen sowohl die Organisationskosten als auch der Frust bei den entmündigten Systemnutzern. Nach Auffassung des aus 27 Beratern aus den Häusern

Pricewaterhouse Coopers und SAP bestehenden Autorenteams läßt sich dies durch Anwendung der heute verfügbaren Workplace-Technologie vermeiden.
