Andy Adams (1859-1935) was an American writer of western fiction, whose works have earned a distinguished place in the genre of cowboy literature. Born to pioneer parents in Indiana, he spent the early part of his life in Texas, where he absorbed the experiences that would serve as the authentic backdrop for his later writings.
