"Those people sound really weird," he sighed heavily. "Trust me, they are," she agreed with him. "Why don't you let me drive you and Carol down for the court date?" His offer surprised Lacy. "Are you sure you can take off school that day and what about football practice?" Lacy knew how they had football practice almost every night after school and this might be an inconvenience to the coach to lose one of his players. "I'll check with Coach Smith tonight and call you back. I'm sure it will be all right to miss one day of school since it will be on a Friday." "Okay, let me know, and thanks again."
