In this Volume 6 of 7 series, Suzonne of Twin Flames, we find Suzonne choosing to fight an enemy more sinister than the pirate, more calculating than Sir Essex, an enemy who deviously tempts her with regard to Andre and above all, an enemy who knows her with the depth that Rutah knows her.
This is a story of good versus evil, and proof that we are never alone.
Should Suzonne and Rutah fail evil will be released beyond Twin Flames and the Delisle plantations. It will consume the entire island.
Drums and more drums. Old Solomon mounts a bell on Rutah's hut. "You are to ring it when you need help," says Suzonne.
After an unnerving event Suzonne asks Rutah how Ziya is able to trick her. Rutah gives an earth shattering reply.
Meanwhile, Raphael is drinking more, sleeping less, and seeing phantoms.
Correspondence from Camille reaches Suzonne. She writes that every woman in Paris covets Andre. The entire city prayed for him when they learned he had been abducted by pirates.
Rutah reveals something too gruesome to be true but she is proven correct.
Suzonne is sleeping fitfully. Nightmares consume her. When Rutah's bell rings Suzonne believes it might be another nightmare until her feet touch the cold tile floor.
With only a small oil lantern to light her way she plunges into the inky black corridor to the slave quarters. She sees a tall dark shadowy figure hiding ahead. Is it a trap? Why hadn't she brought a weapon?
