Now you have the dog on a flat buckle collar, and you are standing in front of the dog. You say COME, and with gentle straight line guidance assist the dog toward you. If the dog decides to veer off or stop, just continue to guide with the leash. I don't really like the idea of using the e collar for board and train work. I prefer to use a harness for more control and efficiency. I find that if I am working a dog that needs extra motivation, it is better to use a harness for a board and train. For me, using a harness is much more efficient and effective. I can work more pressure points with more control. I can get into smaller spaces and corners much easier. I also do not have to put much pressure on the neck at all to get my dog's attention. I just step into a good position that puts my body weight onto my leading leg and then step onto my rear leg, which pivots me weight onto my leading leg so that I am standing at an angle over the dog.
#2 You should barely be able to get two fingers under the e collar strap, not the receiver. Start on the lowest setting and work your way up until the dog begins to feel it. Now you are ready to work.
