Something's Going On Here delivers on the title's promise of mystery and intrigue. Nick Gray has retired from teaching English for twenty-five years at Penn. State and moved to the west coast at his cousin's insistence. While beautiful on the surface, the small community of Los Osos bubbles with deception, fear, betrayal, and manipulation. As Nick comes to know the residents, he learns about himself. This small town challenges, frustrates, and, ultimately, saves Nick. In this archetypal mid-life story, the hero in Nick emerges as he encounters his own unresolved conflicts which must heal for him to survive life in Los Osos.
