Following this discovery, Wulfgar Runehammer, feeling encouraged, directed mining teams to venture into the depths of Aethermoor, and ultimately, they unearthed a cavern where Nyogtha, a creature that shouldn't be, the eldritch god and destroyer, had been imprisoned for centuries beneath Aethermoor. When the miners accidentally set Nyogtha free, he repaid them by killing them, which was his way of showing his gratitude for being released. Faced with panic and destruction, Wulfgar established a cruel arrangement, providing Nyogtha with frequent sacrifices in order for Nyogtha to go back beneath the surface.
